Brand New Cake Peppernuts mix 400 grams
Sinterklaas kapoentje, gooi wat in mijn schoentje, gooi wat in mijn laarsje, welkom Sinterklaasje. It has never been easier for Saint Nicholas and his helpers to make pepernoten. Make the tastiest peppernuts (officially called kruidnoten) yourself with the mix from Brand New Cake. All you have to do is add water and butter. In no time, you will have delicious pepernoten for in the shoe or on the table. 

Recipe
400 grams of pepper nut mix, 160 grams of butter, 4 tablespoons of water

Procedure:
1. Cut the butter and mix in the pepernoten mix, add the water and knead into a dough ball, leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
2. Preheat the oven to 160°C (hot-air oven 150°C).
3. Press the dough flat about 0.5 - 1 cm thick and roll into small balls. Place them on a buttered baking tray and press them slightly flat. Bake them in a preheated oven for about 10 min until nicely browned.
4. Remove the peppernuts from the oven and let them cool on the wire rack.

Wheat flour, sugar, baker's salt, herbs and spices, invert sugar syrup, raising agents: E450, E500, potato starch, colouring agent: E150a (caramel).
