BrandNewCake Sugar Bread Mix 500g
A delicious slice of sugar bread for breakfast, lunch or just as a snack. With this mix from Brand New Cake, you can now make your own delicious sugar bread. Sugar bread is originally a Frisian white bread into which grains of sugar are baked. Nowadays, pearl or greinsugar, cinnamon or ginger are often added, in addition to ordinary sugar. Which version do you go for?
Recipe
500g sugar bread mix, 250ml water, 30g fresh yeast or 15g dry yeast, 150 - 250g pearl sugars.
Procedure by hand
1. If using fresh yeast, first dissolve it in some lukewarm water.
2. Mix the essentials without the pearl sugar and knead for 8 minutes.
3. Cover the dough with a damp tea towel or foil. Let the dough rise, covered, for 30 minutes in a warm place.
4. Knead the dough together with the pearl sugar for another 5 minutes and place the dough in a greased mould and leave to rise for 1 - 1.5 hours.
5. Heat the oven to 190°C (hot-air oven 175°C)
5. Bake the bread for 35 minutes until golden brown.

Note: This product is not suitable for use in the breadmaker, due to damage to the baking tin by the pearl sugar.
