    This convenient mix makes it easy to bake the iconic Red Velvet Cake—sometimes called Red Velvet tart—with its signature red hue. The cake has a rich, moist crumb and a vibrant colour that always impresses. While it’s popular during Christmas (pair it with white filling or coating) and on Valentine’s Day, this cake is perfect for any occasion—or no occasion at all. It’s delicious on its own, yet you can also dress it up with royal icing, buttercream, or crème chantilly.

    ecipe for a Red Velvet Cake (26–28 cm): 500 g BrandNewCake Red Velvet Cake Mix, 200 ml water, 100 ml vegetable oil, 3 medium eggs (150 g).

    Method
    1. Bring all ingredients to room temperature.
    2. Preheat the oven to 175°C (fan oven 160°C).
    3. Beat the mix, eggs, oil and water together for 6 minutes until the batter is smooth.
    4. Pour the batter into a greased 25 cm (10 inch) cake tin.
    Bake in the centre of the oven for 35–40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
