Below is a recipe for a delicious Angel Food Cake. For an Angel Food Cake, the amount of egg white should always be the same as the amount of sugar. In addition, the amount of flour should always be 1/3 of the amount of sugar.

The essentials for an Angel Food Cake
300 grams of sugar, 300 grams of egg whites (10 to 12 eggs), 100 grams of patent flour, 1.5 grams of salt, 5 millilitres of vanilla extract and 4 grams of tartar powder (not tartaric acid).

    Procedure

    1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
Tip! Place a baking stone on a rack at the bottom of the oven. this keeps the temperature in the oven more constant.
    2. Sift the flour over a batter bowl.
    3. Then mix the salt and half the sugar into the flour.
    4. Whip the egg whites with a fat-free mixer until frothy with the cream of tartar.
    5. Slowly increase the speed of the mixer, until you get limp peaks.
    6. Now gradually add the remaining sugar to the egg whites.
    7. Then mix the vanilla extract into the egg whites.
    8. Spatel the icing sugar mixture lightly through the egg whites in four parts.
    9. Rinse the Angel Food Cake baking tin with hot water.
    10. Fill the tin with the batter. Be careful not to grease the mould!
    11. Slap the mould on the countertop a few times to prevent the large air bubbles.
    12. Place the mould in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
    13. Turn the mould upside down on a sturdy bottle afterwards and let the cake cool for at least an hour.
    14. Turn the mould on one side after that and cut the customers loose.
