    With the RUF Kaiserschmarrn classic style baking mix, you can whip up a traditional Austrian speciality in no time at all. The finely balanced recipe ensures a light and fluffy Schmarrn with a golden brown surface and a pleasantly delicate texture. The mildly sweet taste makes this variant a versatile classic that tastes great on its own or combined with various side dishes.

    Whether as a sweet main course or dessert, Kaiserschmarrn can be individually arranged and served in many different ways. With apple sauce, fresh fruit or a fine layer of icing sugar, it is a popular speciality with a traditional character. Ideal for cosy moments of enjoyment or for sharing with family and friends.

    Preparation

    1. Prepare the batter: Separate the egg. Place the egg yolk, milk and baking mix in a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. Beat the egg white until stiff and fold in. Alternatively, the egg can be added directly without separating.
    2. Baking: Heat a little margarine or butter in a non-stick frying pan. Pour in the batter and bake with the lid on over medium heat until golden brown. Quarter the batter while it is still slightly liquid, turn and bake again until golden brown.
    3. Finishing: Use spatulas to tear the Kaiserschmarrn into small pieces and continue baking for about 1 minute. The preparation time may vary depending on the type of stove and pan.
