Food dye for all your bakes
When baking, you may want to give your cake, sponge or biscuits a distinctive colour using fondant or marzipan. These ingredients can be coloured with the food dye available at Baktotaal. Food dye is safe to consume and available in a wide range of shades. Start with a small amount to see the effect. If the colour is not intense enough, simply add a little more. The more dye you use, the deeper the colour will become.
What can you colour with edible dye?
Edible dye can be used to colour a variety of foods, from cake batter and sponge mixtures to creams and icing. Even drinks can be coloured with food dye. You can also bake with dye when it is mixed into batter. When working with ready-to-roll fondant, apply the dye in the centre to prevent staining your hands. To be extra careful, we recommend wearing latex gloves while colouring.

Oil-based dyes
Oil-based edible dyes are specifically designed for products containing oil or other fats. They are ideal for colouring chocolate, candy melts and buttercream. Oil-based dyes are not recommended for royal icing, meringue or macarons.
