Because maple syrup is deliciously sweet, you can use it as a substitute for sugar or as an extra flavouring. Use it, for example, to flavour French toast and home-baked treats such as cakes, pies and cupcakes. Of course you can also use maple syrup very well as a garnish, it's up to you! What is the difference between A-grade and C-grade maple syrup? The A-grade syrup is light brown in colour and is obtained from the so-called first tapping (early spring). The flavour is mild and delicate. C grade syrup, on the contrary, is dark brown in colour and is only obtained at a later tapping. It has a pronounced caramel flavour. The difference is thus limited to flavour/aroma and colour (nutritional values are the same).
