Cleaning set for printer transport wheels

Cleaning set for the transport wheels of your food printer. The set includes some cleaning cloths and a scraper with the correct width.

    Preventing/dissolving vertical streaks.
When you have your printer in use for a while, especially for prints with dark colours, vertical streaks (longitudinal) may appear.
This is caused by deposits from the sheets (sugar) and ink, which is turned on to the paper transport wheels.
An edible sheet is made of a soft sugar mass, the transport wheels are finely serrated and pick up a minimal amount of this material with each pass of a sheet.
Because edible sheets (especially Icing sheets) absorb little or no ink, the still “wet” sheet runs through the transport wheels causing these wheels to pick up some ink as well.
This creates a snowball effect and after a while there is so much sugar and ink deposits on the transport wheels that they leave streaks on your print.
Using Frosty sheets instead of Icing sheets helps a little because Frosty sheets contain some starch so they absorb more ink.
If the printer still leaves streaks on the print, you can clean the wheels in the following way.

You will need: 1 rectangular scraper and a non-woven cleaning cloth (fig.1.)
    1) Turn off the printer.
    2) Open the printer cover so that you can see the print head.
    3) Slightly moisten a non-woven cleaning cloth (wet it and squeeze it well).
    4) Pull this cloth tightly over the scraper. (Fig.2)
    5) Gently insert the dampened sheet into the paper outlet of the printer (Fig.3) , and push it through until you see the end appear in the printer.(yellow arrow Fig.3)
    6) Now gently move the sheet back and forth for a while , pull it back, move the cloth a bit and repeat. (If all goes well, you should now see thick, black stripes on the sheet) (fig.4) (only move the scraper straight forwards and backwards, don't move at an angle as this may pull out the wheels! If this remains in the printer, it may jam. In general, the printer will still work fine when a wheel is missing.
    7) Keep repeating the procedure from point 6 until there is almost no more ink on the cloth.
    8) Repeat the procedure from point 6 with a dry cloth to dry the wheels.Turn the printer back on and make a test print on a sheet of paper, if the procedure has been done properly then no more streaks will appear.
