BrandNewCake Pectin 45g
BrandNewCake pectin is a powder used as a gelling and thickening agent in mainly sour foods. Perfect for making jams, fruit pastes, jelly products and also cake fillings. Pectin causes the fruit paste to gel and creates a spreadable smooth texture. Besides making jam, it can also be used in confectionery, sauces and glaze for savoury products. Or thickening milk or water-based desserts.
Applepectin is used in the food industry as a vegetable substitute for gelatine. It gives the right consistency for jellies, jams, marmalades, milk products and soft drinks. But pectin is also used in vegan sausage alternatives and in numerous pharmaceutical products.
Pectin from apples is used specifically for baked goods.
Dosage: 0.5 - 1.3%
Preparation jam 2:1
-30 grams of pectin
-2000 grams of fruit
-1000 grams of granulated sugar
-evt lemon juice (if desired)
Mix the pectin with some of the sugar and then add it to the cold fruit and stir well. Cook the fruit and then gradually add the rest of the sugar. Let it cook for another 3 minutes while stirring well.
