Book: Het Grote Regionale Bakboek (België)
Recipes from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s developed by baker Noël Cuppens his father and then refined by him are all in this book. Noël thought it was a shame that all these recipes would be lost, so he decided to pour them into a book: “Het grote regionale bakboek”. The book contains 40 old, tried and delectable recipes that you will want to surprise all your guests with. From black forest bread via tea cake to oatmeal biscuits and knöbbelkesvlaai, nothing leaves to the imagination. Some major biscuit manufacturers had wanted to give money for the recipes, but this he always held off. There were even plans to start a factory in China, to produce his oatmeal biscuits. Noël did not want industrial baking with his recipes and therefore held off. Now he releases his recipes in this recipe book, so it is a real honour to be able to bake from this book. After baking these recipes, you are bound to be blazing with enthusiasm and delight your guests.
About Noël Cuppens
Noël Cuppens was taken into the bakery at the age of 14 by father Leo to learn the ‘clean stile’ of baking. He would practise the trade for 47 years. First in Neeroeteren in the parental bakery, later in his own business in Kaulile. The authentic dish in this book therefore goes back almost a hundred years and has been tried and tasted by many.
